I switched over to linux roughly a year ago, swearing never to return to Gate$ware
-another oath broken

due to popular demand (my wife - more demand than popular) I have reinstalled win98 on my box, making it a dual boot system (win98/mdk9.1)

I can access everything on my home net through linux, but my wife can't access anything but msdos partitions - handy for hiding those dirty folders ;)

but I would like her to have access to all partitions, I know this is probably way out in left field for this forum but;

Is it possible to make windows read/write linux partitions?

I once saw a tool to read ext2 partitions, but you could not open or write anything, so it didn't do much good. You could only view the file tree. You could install linux on a fat or fat32 filesystem. That would be the ugly way to do it...

Freakmn - yeah I figured it was possible to install on a fat32 partition. But I understand it can cause problems w/ some linux apps.

Do you happen to know the name of that tool? it may have advanced since you last saw it, though not likely.

I am wondering why do you want to do that...

serz - because I would like my wife to have access to all partitions on the network without having to duplicate them. i.e. having one copy on a windows native partition and one on a linux native partition. I only work in linux now and would hate to switch back just to make all my files available. By having her able to read/write the same files we would not have to continually check for the newest version on 'x' drive. Now I don't know if this is possible without me having to switch to a fat32 version of linux or going back to Gate$ware.

I don't see how to explain this further.

Give Explore2fs a try.
