I am helping a candidate to make a voice recording and then store the file in a CD.
the CD will will play in CD play on a car stereo.
if the voice file of the candidates is called candidate.X
x is file extension.
what other files I should store in the same CD.
I never made a CD play in car stereo before.

Moving this one into the Software Forum.
It really depends on what program you use to burn the CD.
I think the file format is actually .cda, but I believe most CD burning programs make .cda files from .wav files.
So, it really depends on your software. I know when I use FreeBSD's burncd program, I can use .wav files, and burncd does any conversion, if neccesary.

You will be recording, burning the cd and using a Windows application stored on the cd to play the recording?
Shouldn't you be asking in a Windows forum?

x cd roast works well for audio cd's and will convert wav > cda, mp3 > cda, or pretty much any other conversion... I use it all the time for burning music

Moving this back to /dev/random as it really is a Windows related question (if anyone cares to answer).

You didn't really say what Operating System you were using... Since this is a Linux help forum, I sorta figured you'd be using Linux to do the burning of the CD.

In Nero, just make an audio cd, and add the file to the compilation. Nero can deal with .wav or .mp3 files. As long as it's a straight audio cd, it should be fine.
(or create it as a CD Extra or CD Plus (I forget which name Nero uses, but it's the one that has a red book session and an ISO-9660 session), and include promotional materials, position statements, &c on the data portion.)
