I've experimenting with setting up a server to be a proxy and was wondering if there are going to be any differences between RH8 and RH9 that would make installation any stickier? I am planning on using Squid and then probably putting Dansguardian over the top of it.

Thanks in advance!

there are not many differences between the two...I use to use red hat and I found 8 was more stable than 9... apache crashed on 9 a couple of times and mysql crash once with it. 8 never had any problems.

Redhat should have some sort of 'changelog' on their site to describe the differences between 8.0 and 9.0.

I tried to find the change log on RH's site, but they commercialized it so much that things are harder to find. :(

What you are looking for is the Release Notes which can be found at the bottom of the manual page (http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/)

or to make it simpler...right here (http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/release-notes/x86/)
