Posted this on the Gentoo forums, but thought I'd run it by here incase someone has seen it.

When I'm doing a stage1 install everything runs smooth up to the point where you start the bootstrap.sh. Here's the error I get when I run it:

Using >=sys-apps/baselayout-1.7.9-r1
Using >=sys-apps/portage-2.0.25
Using >=sys-devel/binutils-2.13.90.0.4
Using >=sys-devel/gcc-3.2
Using
Using >=sys-libs/glibc-2.2.5
Using >=sys-apps/texinfo-4.2-r1
Using sys-libs/zlib
Using >=sys-libs/ncurses-5.2.20020112a

Configuring environment...
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy ">=sys-apps/portage-2.0.25".

!!! Error calculating dependancies. Please correct.

I looked and the portage-2.0.25 ebuild isn't there, but I thought the emerge sync was supposed to fix all this type stuff?

I'm using a CD for gentoo I burned off a few months ago, but I'm pretty sure it's the r4 CD that is out now...

Any ideas?

i only have these 2 ebuild for portage now.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9132 Jun 22 04:22 portage-2.0.48-r1.ebuild
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9172 Jul 1 21:59 portage-2.0.48-r3.ebuild

you may need a new CD or change the version of portage it tries to install - not sure where that is in the bootstrap. it may look in /usr/portage/profiles (a guess as i've never actually looked at the bootstrap script)

Yeah, those are the 2 ebuilds I have too. Someone on the gentoo forums just posted another message with the same problems and good a response. Said before you do a bootstrap if you do an "emerge --nodeps portage" it should fix the problem.

I'm gonna have to wait until I get home to try it, but hopefully that will solve it. Will post the results..
