Easiest KaZaA howto evr, by ME

i read a lot of kazaa howto's on the net. and most of em were plain garbage. so i buggered around for a few hours and heres how i got kazaa working


Download, installed and set up(with a graphical easy interface) Codeweaver Wine 7

installed kazaa by typeing "wine kazaa171_en.exe"

then i copied the following files to my kazaa directory from my windows\system32

comctl32.dll
comdlg32.dll
shwapi.dll
shdocvw.dll

then i ran kazaa by typing "wine Kazaa.exe" in my kazaa directory

it worked sweat, and easier than modifying config files and all that other garbage.

reply if u need some help, or if u need the Kazaa171_en.exe file

What is Codeweaver Wine 7? Is it free, unlike Crossover Office?

WINE Is open source and it is free. Codeweaver's crossover uses a lot of the wine code but is easy for new users as it requires little configuration. WINE stands for wine is not an emulator. WINE HQ (http://www.winehq.com/)

[NEXT TIME: search google.com/linux for wine. It is easier than asking here. It is the first result that comes up.

(note: i think the 7 might be a typo?)

Codeweavers provide a version of wine that is free to download. It differs from both the WINEHQ version of wine, and I guess that it also differs from the WINE code behined CX Office and CX plug in. Codeweavers WINE does come with a GUI, WineSetupTK, but you can use that to configure any version of wine.
