please help
how to set up a server with a mail service for two clients

i donīt have sendmail or qmail?

do i need to download them??

You mean with smtp and pop stuff ? Your prolly going to have to get sendmail, postfix, and perhaps exim.

it doesnīt matter which way (POP or SMTP)

i need an account for every client and another account for the server in a two or three computers network

and by the way where do i must to install sendmail, i mean in which directory

pop3 is where you store mail and download it. smtp is for sending mail

I use communigate pro for my mail server. It is easy to install and set up. A little overkill as ISPs can use this. Can set up client web space and give each their own mail account - IMAP or POP.
A good one to get you going b4 you start to pull your hair out getting 2-3 mail apps working together.
