The article here (http://rss.com.com/2100-1028_3-1013037.html?type=pt&part=rss&tag=feed&subj=news) states that Sen. Sam Brownback has written a bill that, among other things, limit DRM. It also would require a judges approval before a copyright holder could get the name of a p2p "pirate" (See the Verizon (http://slashdot.org/articles/03/06/05/1524222.shtml?tid=123&tid=158&tid=99) case) Guys(and gals) this is our chance to use our voice!! If you haven't done so already, go to EFF.org (http://www.eff.org) and send your Senator a letter supporting Sen. Brownback's bill. There needs to be a limit to the privacy we loose!!! 9/11 was a tragedy, no one will argue that, but it's not a reason for Ashcroft and the RIAA to take and take and take of our privacy. Hey, and while you are there, donate to the EFF. They are on the front line fighting for our rights and we need to do all we can to show them our appreciation.
Sorry for the rambling. It's early here and I haven't had a cup of Jack this morning.
;)
Thanks for reading.

All people really care about anymore is the all-mighty dollar. Nothing will be able to help this kind of situation. Commercial interest will always win over people's rights, even though that's a shame. Even most of the Senators on Capitol Hill don't care about our rights, but about having their place in office and other selfish desires, like making outside deals. What a loss for citizen's rights?

They try to pass this bill every 6 months or so for the last 3 years...no reason it will get passed now
We all know p2p is to blame for the drop of music sales...it has nothing to do with the poor economy and extremely high unemployment rate:rolleyes:
Do they really think people that don't have jobs and are scrapeing to get food on the table are going to be running out to get the new eminem album?
It would help the RIAA also if there was any good music coming out these days...:p

Bad thing is this.....
I GUARANTEE you that the people that are all for the DRM (including the RIAA, MPAA of course) have sons and daughters at home that are downloading off of the net!!!
It's gotten to the point now that it's actually an odd thing to hear of someone that DOESN'T use P2P than someone that does!! **THEY WILL NEVER STOP P2P FILE SHARING!!!**
As long as a human is creating protection for digital media, another human will crack it.
