Does Linus use a Linux distro or build his own from scratch?

I was wondering about this today so I decided to post here.

I've heard he uses SuSE, or he at least views that as one of his favorites.

This thread has popped up a few times in the last year or two and it appears that he switches between SuSE and RedHat.

He uses Redhat, because as we all know, RedHat==Linux. :p I think he works on RH and SuSE mostly to make sure the work he does works with the two biggest distros. The distro wars don't seem to matter much to him beyond that, and he seems to try to avoid being involved in them by using one distro exclusively.

Actually, I've heard Linus say he doesn't care about anything so trivial as user space. He jacks his brain directly into the kernel, and controls all aspects of the system neuro-synaptically. He's also eight feet tall and shoots bolts of lightning from his arse.

Actually, rumor has it, the kernel is derived directly from Linus's and other's brains. Of course, the hardware hasn't caught up yet, so they had to make some modifications. :)

He mainly uses Red Hat. Cox, Linus right hand works for Red Hat as the lead programmer when it comes to the kernel that RH uses.
i havent hear anything about him using SUSE, even though it would make sense because suse is a really good distro.

I still like Debian, but Im not going to be telling linux what distro to use....y'know, he would make an excellent contributer to this forum, wonder if he has any questions, lol.

Linus Torvalds has said that he does not endorse any one distro over another. However, the answer to your question is this:

Red Hat @ work
SuSE @ home

Thank you have a nice day.

Yeah, I read "Just For Fun" recently and I think it was mentioned there that he does indeed use RH at work, and SuSE at home. Also I seem to remember reading that he uses NEdit for a lot of his work, and is very fond of Powerpoint. :p

This is Linus we're talking about - he probably hacked his own libc, shell, and GUI! :D
