Fast User Switching

Is there currently anything to enable multiple users to be on at once in X and easily select this from X, like you can in WinXP. I hate to tout a Win "idea" but it's really a nice feature for some people. Yes it makes us geeks cringe do to resource use, but a family of light users can all be on at once on a decently powerful machine.
Anybody else think it could be a good idea?
