in some window managers (icewm xfce afterstep) there is some setting that makes the window under the cursor move when pressing the <ALT> and left mouse button. This has got to stop, and I can never figure out how to do it. I know in fluxbox, this is a built in 'feature' that cannot be undone, but I have icewm, xfce and afterstep installed on other computers that do not behave like this. Is this in some keyboard configuration file somewhere or what?
Thanks for reading....

Does anyone even know what I am asking in the above question?
I want the <ALT> key to stop being a modifier when used with the mouse.

Just to let you know, I can disable the <ALT> modifier in KDE and Gnome, due to their nice GUI setups. I just want to use a lightweight WM that wont keep grabbing the window and moving it everytime I press the <ALT> key and left mouse button. Somebody knows whats up here....

try hacking the window-manager source. making a patch, and then compiling it yourself. Beyond that... I dunno.
From scanning google, unless it has an option, you hack the source.
Hi,
I just used google to search on "afterstep key bindings" and something came up... Actually a lot of links but I just checked one which looked promising...
Look here:
http://www.malfunction.de/afterstep/faq/as-faq.1999-9-4-4.html
Read about "feel" file (check question 4.12).
I hope this helps.
