I have a HP desktop pc with windows xp on it. I bought REDHAT Linux 9.0 and want to install it on the same machine. When I boot off the REDHAT CD to perform the install, I am able to take 2 language options and the mouse option, but then the SEARCHING FOR REDHAT INSTALLATIONS message appears, and the installation crashes. The last line of the dump is:

/usr/lib/anaconda/lvm.py(81)vgactivate
vgchange failed

Help!

-Please give us your full system specs.

-How is the drive currently partitioned and formatted?

-Have you tried an alternate installation mode (text, custom, expert)?
