I have a math final coming up soon and I get to fill one piece of paper full of as many of the formulas as I can from my textbook. After I write it out on notebook paper, I figure that if I type it up and make it all color coded.

So far I have tried to write the formulas KFormula and then I will just copy them into KWord. I've already run into two problems:

How to print? I'm unsure as to how I will print this out though, because I have to convert it to a format that can be read and printed out correctly on a Windows Machine. I have had trouble enough converting simple documents to a Windows readable. It is physically impossible to print directly from my Linux box.

Where can I find more symbols? If I run into a symbol that is not in the character map, is there a good font for Mathematicians that will have it?

How do I paste symbols in from the Klipper to KFormula? I sent a symbol to the clipboard, but they aren't pasting into KFormula? How do I do this?

Is there a better program for doing this that won't eat up very much time? From your experience would it be better that I not mess around and just write really small?

Try Lyx. It's a gui front end for latex. It does scientific and mathematical formulas very well. Lyx Features (http://www.lyx.org/about/features.php3)
As far as printing, could you send the pages to another computer that can print from linux? Via email maybe? Lyx may work in windows also. Lyx on Windows (http://www.lyx.org/about/platforms.php3) . But it seems to work best in Linux/Unix.
The big difference between Lyx and word processors is that you just type and the program formats according to what you choose on the drop down menu.
