I am getting 23 boxes with onboard flashcards seen as /dev/hdc (secondary master) and no floppy drive.

Out of ignorance, I thought why not do kickstarts from the flashcard. Just set the bios to seek hdd1 at bootup and the flashcard will run my kickstart to load RedHat8.0 onto /dev/hda.

Anyone ever think of doing such a thing. The next build I do I am going to try to partition and format (ext2) the flashcard and see if it can be done. Cos I don't even know if I can write to it. Might just be a readonly device.

I found out that someone else is using the same boxes as what I have. Their boxes have no hard drive. Instead they are using a 256M flashcard. Must be using a very slim linux.

I guess I can use a flashcard in place of a floppy. Floppies will be gone one day anyway.

I'm going to give up on this idea. It's too involved and I don't have the time right now.
