Americas Army available

Today www.gentoo.org has released a new LiveCD with Americas Army on it and has announced their new games division www.gentoogames.com

I have not been able to find anything on an eBuild or seperate Linux install package for Americas Army yet, but if anyone finds it and posts it before me...cookies for you! :D

I got it installed on my hard drive now (many hours ago ;))

If you can't wait until Tuesday or whenever, boot the LiveCD, mount your hard drive and copy /opt/armyops0174 somewhere.

Reboot, removing the disk ;)

and run System/armyops-bin

From there you can run it perfectly, and it will keep all of your settings in ~/.armyops

It works very well, I've been getting killed by teammates for the last couple of hours :D

You mean the CD? Yup. I downloaded it and works pretty good.
I have a gForce3 ti - but it seems slow working from the cd. I'll try mahdi's approach. Thx!:D

Wouldnt it be possible to simply mount the iso and copy it directly from ther? Its probobly comrpressed and what not..but its worth a shot.

(i dont wanna loose my uptime! :))

You can try some of the suggestions found on gentoo's forum (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=54264) about doing this. I think the iso is compressed or something so you need to do a couple other tricks they mention to mount and copy it from the iso

Did you install the real Nvidia drivers (not the drivers that came with your distro, but the drivers you download off the Nvidia site)? If so, then yes, it will.
