ok people, some of us have survived relatively windows free because there was a certain lack in the games' department.

but what the hell are we going to do now. We know that at least Doom 3 is getting ported, but what about the other grand games, like halflife2, and deus ex and stalker.

how many of these will have linux ports?

That is always hard to predict because games don't usually get ported unless they are a smash success....sucks doesn't it?

However, when I was a doze user I was a HUGE fan of Americas Army...and I was please to read today that it was announced today that there is going to be both a server/client port of the game for Linux...as well as Mac!

somehow i believe all unreal-engine based games are more likely to be ported - but that's just a guess (see ut, ut2003, devastation, americas army, etc, etc) - but maybe that's just because ryan is somehow hired by epic - like dan vogel - which are two programmers formerly working at loki ;)

epic has ported ut2003 to 64bit in a few days - so the unreal engine seems to have a pretty solid code-base.
