The highest I can set my resolution is 1024x768, but i have a pretty big monitor and when i try to crtl+alt+numplus the screen goes blank(doesnt allow the resolution) is there anything i can edit to get it at a stable 1280x1024 resolution? (and not the one where the screen gets bigger, but you have to move around it to see everything)
thanks-

You can try running xf86config, and choose the moniter type that best describes what you got.
