i tried to install R.H 7.2 using a compact disk.it boot but stops at the message -"installing /sbin/loader" and did not respond after that.what could be the problem?

How did you get the disk? Did you burn it or borrow it? If you downloaded it do a checksum (the MD5 file where the iso. images are downloaded) and make sure if the download images have all the data.
Also, let us know the type of computer, RAM size (amount of memory), if you see any kind of graphical screen, if you have any kind of login prompt.

i got the CD free with the book R.H.Linux 7.2 Bible by Christopher Negus.
the RAM is 256 MB and i am able to see the the initial prompt (the options with the type of installation - GUI, expert, etc.), but as soon as it reaches the place where it says "installing /sbin/loader ", it stops responding.
