Ok, I have two computers both running the same install of MDK 9.1. the problem is they both use two different login screens. Why is this and how do I change it? Im stumped. They both should be using grub as a boot loader if that matters. I think one had Lilo orginially to start with then I changed it to grub. Would that have anything to do with the login possibly?

I don't really understand your problem...what do you mean by "the problem is they both use two different login screens"? What's different and/or what's the problem with it?

Ok the differnce in the two login screens is
First install,
Allows me to enter what ever login name I want into a text box and then goes to the password screen

Second install,
Displays the three login names (doesnt include root) for me to select which one I would like to use then goes to the password screen.

Neither of the two screens or backgrounds look the same so its kind of hard to explain. Is there a way to take a screen shot of the login screen?

You can change what mandrake uses for the login in the Mandrake Control Center under Hardware --> Display Manager Chooser.

If you are using KDM you can change it's appearance from the by selecting the menu Configuration --> KDE --> System --> Login Manager.

Hope that helps.

You can change your login manager in Mandrakes Control center under "Hardware".
