Hi All,
First let me say this same problem is present on a Boxed version of
suse 8.0 and a
FTP installed version of 8.1......
Before I describe the problem let me say that I have a scsi card
aha2950 and on the card is a zip 100 drive,Microtek E6 scanner and a
Imation 8x burner..No scsi hard drive is used, just ATA drives..
Now to the problem..Finally..
When either of the two above versions are installed, during the boot
sequence,64 Microtek scanners are detected and installed..It goes thru
all the possible codes(Queues) and loads each one...No other Linux which
includes Suse 7.1,Redhat versions up to 8.0, and Mandrake versions up
to 9.1 does this..All others find and load one Microtek E6
scanner..Everything seems to work OK though..Zip,Burner, and even the
scanners after I configure one of them..It finds and loads the correct
scsi driver
and no other problems are evident except 64 scanners..
Is there a way to tell suse that there is just one system scanner?
To say the least this is very annoying and I will not purchase the 8.2
box set until I resolve this issue..My guess that 8.2 will have the
very same traits..
Thanks you for any suggestions and or tips..
