For a class C network. How do you 'stare' at the internet? gfreehed 05-08-2003, 11:37 AM How do you 'stare' at the internet? Why do you bother making fun of typos. You know what he/she meant so answer just answer his/her question if you know it. Here's the configuration I would use: * set the IP of your ethernet card to 192.168.0.254 * set the Network mask to 255.255.255.0 * don't worry about the gateway * dial up * download a program called FireStarter and set up a firewall, making sure to enable NAT. * get to each machine on your internal network and set the following: 1) IP of 192.168.0.x 2) Netmask as shown above 3) Gateway of 192.168.0.254 That should get everything working. elite_syntax 05-08-2003, 11:45 AM My goal is to write my own iptable firewall script.I useing red hat linux 8.0. Last time i use 192.168.0.1 it work but that when i was useing winblows.Boy does red hat 8 rock.
