Please advise me about partition size

I need advice on partition size for RH installation on server. I do not want to do auto partitioning. Please advice with your experience. Thanks in advance for your valuable advice.

Depends on what you will be using your server for.

For a default workstation installation you should have at least a 600-700 MB partition. Add another 128 MB for a swap partition, which you will need if you are going to be using the GUI extensively, and make sure you have about 800 MB free on your hard drive.

5gig is more than enough for most everything. 10gig is overkill. A full install of most distros takes roughly 2.5gb.

Custom installation (minimum): 475 MB
Personal Desktop: 1.7 GB
Workstation: 2.1 GB
Custom installation (everything): 5.0 GB

*Additional space will be required for file storage.
