Alright...so I have my Apache, Telnet and FTP servers set up nicely. I can access them from any network that I'm on...but I want to register a domain name for my sites. The problem is...my ISP won't give me a static IP for a reasonable price and the switching costs of moving to another ISP are more than I can bear. My question is; Is there some script that exists or that I can write that will 1. detect my dynamic IP from my router (no I haven't set up my linux box as the router) and 2. with the detected IP, automatically associate that IP with my domain name? I know I could register with a dynamic DNS provider, but the ones that I've seen don't offer the flexibility that I'm looking for. I know that I could also do this manually every time my IP address changes, but I'd rather have it auto-updated. I've tried searching this topic and the answers I've found don't really suit. Thanks for your help.
