Hi,
what do you think is the best and easiest tutorial I can get on how to configure Samba.? the one on this site tells us to configure when your ICS host is Linux, but what about when your ICS host is Windows Me?

Are you using ICS or Samba?

Samba is a filesharing protocol; ICS is a method of sharing an internet connection. They are two different things, not even part of the same package.

If you'll tell us exactly what you're having trouble with, maybe we can help you...

Hi,
well I have a Windows Me machine connected to Internet, and I am sharing its connection on my Linux.
Now, the question is that I would like to be able to share files on Linux with Windows. So how do I configure Samba in order to do that? First of all, how do I actually make sure I already have Samba on my Linux?

Hi,
in the Samba HOW-TO, to start the daemons, they tell me to add something to the / etc/inetd.conf. Well I don't have that file. Could it be xinetd.conf. I searched the whole drive but can't find inetd.conf.

Second thing, how do I download the file from ftp.samba.org?

It gives me a Konqueror page with folders sbin, bin,... when I double-click them, it says that I con't have enough permissions to read the file.
