Hey all.
I just bought a cheap cheap laptop and it came with a Megahertz ccxjem3288 multi-function modem/ethernet pcmcia card. Before I wipe off the really old Win95 that's dying, I need to know whether or not the card is supported so I can continue to do a net install of debian.
Please advise.

I can't find anything about the card in Linux, but if you start the net install you can try to get it working before wipeing the drive. Try searching www.google.com/linux I couldn't find the model number but the model doesn't look right to me...
Also, please do not double post...It's frowned on around here

Sorry about the double post, I just wasn't sure who would be more appropriate to ask...
As for the web searching I had very little luck before which is why I came to this forum in hopes of someone already using the card.
The best I found was :
Supported List of PCMCIA (http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS)
and scrolling down's a bit, I see:
[smc91c92_cs driver] [x86]
Gateway Telepath Combo
Megahertz/U.S. Robotics EM1144, EM3288, EM3336, XJEM3336
which is pretty close to what i have, but i really have to be sure as there is no cdrom to this laptop, and if i can't do the net install, it's gonna be a pain to get an OS back on the system, again, anything would be of a great help
thanks in advance

Close sometimes isn't good enough. Some venders like to change an entire chipset between minor revisions... :(
Have you tried using a generic LAN driver like 'dummy'?
