Hi

I'm three days new to Linux, having just bought Suse 8.2, on the basis that Novell are going to be using a Linux kernel at a later release.

My question, so many books out there for self-study - any advice on which would be best for a newbie?

All advice appreciated. ;)

Thanks
Nisters

I'm using Sybex "Linux+ study guide" by Roderick W. Smith... it covers multiple versions while keeping to the core... it's been very helpful thus far... I'd recommend it!

Also using The Complete Reference Linux 4th Edition by Richard Peterson... which is 1200 pages of Linux goodness... It's a little dated, but it IS a reference book... has a TON of info in it.

Take at look at this thread from a few days ago:

Lots of good book stuff in there.

Hey guys

Thats great, thanks for the info...I think I've written off the next few weeks with trawling through all the info and getting to grips with Linux...keeps me off the streets at least :p
